Real-time collaboration

KOBI is designed for teams that think out loud. Realtime is not a bolt-on — it’s how every canvas works.

Once two or more people are on the same board you’ll see:

  • Live cursors in each teammate’s color.
  • Selection halos when someone is acting on a node.
  • Edit halos with a soft glow during active edits.
  • Avatars in the top-right of the canvas — click to follow that person’s viewport.

KOBI is engineered so two people can work in the same place without overwriting each other:

  • Two people moving the same node end up at one of the two positions, never some weird middle.
  • Two people editing the same text field merge their changes character-by-character.
  • If you edit while offline, your edits sync the moment you reconnect.

Roles control what each member can do:

  • Owner — billing, member management, project deletion.
  • Editor — edit canvases, manage knowledge, invite editors.
  • Commenter — read everything, leave comments and reactions, no canvas writes.
  • Viewer — read-only, no comments.

Roles are per-project. Per-board overrides are coming.

From any board, click Share to:

  • Generate a read-only link for a viewer who doesn’t have an account.
  • Set an expiry on the link (24h, 7d, 30d).
  • Restrict to specific email domains.

Shared sessions get a sandboxed view of the board only — they cannot navigate to other parts of your project.

The Activity panel logs significant events with timestamps and authors:

  • Node added / deleted / restored.
  • Document uploaded / re-indexed.
  • Member invited / role changed.
  • Sharing link created / revoked.

Filter by author, type, or time range.
